Peter Westall – RIP

On behalf of all the members of Monkstone Petanque Club, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to Diane and her family at this difficult time. Peter will forever be remembered as a true gentleman and a good friend to all who were fortunate enough to meet him. In Wales and the many countries that welcomed him as a player and a friend, he will be greatly missed.

Peter was an exceptional boules player. He always had time to help and encourage others, and many of us have benefited from his expertise. He was a former member of Monkstone PC (one of several Welsh clubs he represented) and he always maintained a positive, cheery and supportive attitude to all the membership. This was something you always noticed about Peter, irrespective of the petanque club he represented or whether it was league, national or international competitions. The Welsh petanque community owes so much to Peter.

At a difficult time as this, words cannot always convey the true sadness felt by those who knew Peter. The fragility of life is never more apparent than when you lose someone you know and greatly respect. We have lost a dear friend.

Rest in peace, Peter.
