The 2015 National Shooting Champion is our very own Peter Westall, who took the title last Sunday (17th May) at Caerleon RFC PC.
Peter undertook a series of 5 disciplines, not once, but 5 times to reach the final against last year’s champion Kon Tomczyk, Peter won the encounter 19/11.
Peter’s scores were:
Round 1 – 16 points
Round 2 – 10 points
Round 3 – 22 points
Round 4 – 26 points &
Round 5 – 19 points
The highest score of the day was 30 points recorded by Kon Tomczyk.

Well how amazing that we were able to put out two monkstone ladies teams in the triples!
Even though the teams had differing levels of success both teams played their hearts out and represented our club with pride. A very well done to Vickie, Rose and Joanie who managed to win 3 games and also beat one of the top teams, and to Carol, Gill, Heather and Margaret who managed to win 2! This was the very first time Margaret has played in a match and the first time she, Gill, Carol and Heather played in a team, so a really good result. Above all, a fantastic day was had by all.
Congratulations to Paul, Peredur, Keith and Barney for qualifying for this year’s international Home Nation’s Competition, and especially to Paul and Peredur who will be gaining their Welsh shirts for the first time!
We wish them the best of luck for the competition which is to be held in August of this year
