Unfortunately none of the team were present so the trophy was presented by Vickie in her capacity as League Secretary and accepted on the behalf of the team by Tony Smith representing his wife, team captain Judith Smith.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2220 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monkstonepetanque.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/DSC04800-Large-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"355\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monkstonepetanque.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/DSC04800-Large-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.monkstonepetanque.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/DSC04800-Large-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monkstonepetanque.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/DSC04800-Large-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.monkstonepetanque.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/DSC04800-Large-160x120.jpg 160w, https:\/\/www.monkstonepetanque.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/DSC04800-Large.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 355px) 100vw, 355px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first three trophies had been expected as they had been won in the relevant competitions, but the recipient of the final award, WPA Most Improved Player of the Year, had not been announced in advance. Club members present were delighted when it went to our own Jayne Dunn who unfortunately was not present as she was on holiday in Costa Rica. Again, Vickie stepped into the breach and accepted the award on her behalf from WPA Secretary, Derek Jones.
