Monkstone fall short after a magnificent start<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monkstone played their last match in the round robin section of this year’s Cup for Clubs at Caerleon on Sunday 19 February 2017. Monkstone needed to win 9 of the 11 games to make further progress in the competition. The match got of to a tremendous start\u00a0for Monkstone when they won 5 out of 6 of the opening singles. Unfortunately they were unable to sustain the pressure on Caerleon losing 2 of the 3 doubles and both of the triples. Although losing the match\u00a0on match points, Monkstone did have the satisfaction of winning 6 games to Caerleon’s 5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
