The Monkstone PC Super League was inaugurated in 2020 when, due to the Coronavirus restrictions, it was not possible for the WPA National League to take place. The partial lifting of restrictions in the Autumn of 2020 allowed this intra-club competition to be held for the first time.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/div>\r\n
Even though the WPA National League recommenced in 2021, the Super League had <\/span>been such a success that it was decided to continue with it as an annual competition. For the 2025\/26 edition, Jayne Dunn replaced Bernard Adshead as Organiser who had inaugurated the series in 2020.<\/span><\/div>\r\n
\u00a0<\/div>\r\n
The 2025\/26 of the competition had 39 entries resulting in 6 teams with squads of 6 or 7. The competition will commence on Mon 6 October 2025 for 5 weeks before taking a mid-winter break, recommencing on 2 March 2026 for a further 5 weeks. As last year, rather than base the teams on the existing WPA League teams, six new teams have been created with players drawn at random from the people who had entered (with some seeding) to try to give more balanced teams to encourage our non-WPA League players to take part.<\/span><\/div>\r\n

The teams are Mammoths, Marlins, Marmots, Meerkats, Misfits and Mustangs.<\/span><\/div>\r\n

2025\/26 SUPER LEAGUE RULES<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

It is intended that the Super League is competitive but above all else “friendly”. Nothing runs, however, without some rules but these have been kept to a minimum and are mainly organisational.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\r\n

The rules of the competition will be generally as the WPA League where not amended below.<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  1. The fixtures are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday @ 6:00pm. There is flexibility to amend the time and\/or date by agreement between the teams. Fixtures may be played at any time before the scheduled time and\/or date but must, however, be played by the Sunday before the next scheduled round.<\/li>\r\n
  2. There will be break between Round 5 & 6 – Round 5 must be completed by 9 November 2025 and Round 10 must be completed by 5 April 2026.<\/li>\r\n
  3. Because we are playing later in the year than the normal WPA league, we will need floodlights for evening games.\u00a0 Fixtures will, therefore, be played on Lanes 2 & 3.<\/li>\r\n
  4. If a fixture is rearranged to another date which IS NOT<\/strong> a scheduled Super League night, the Super League will take precedence over any other games and will be played on Lanes 2 & 3 as above.<\/li>\r\n
  5. Notwithstanding Rule 4 above, if a Super League game is scheduled for Monday or Friday morning it will not take precedence over the normal roll-up and will be played on Pistes 15 & 16.<\/li>\r\n
  6. If a fixture is rearranged for another date which IS<\/strong> a scheduled Super League night and the scheduled fixture is taking place, the rearranged fixture will take precedence over any other non-Super League games and will be played on Lanes 5 & 6 or on Pistes 13 \u2013 16 which also have floodlights.<\/li>\r\n
  7. If any fixture is rescheduled for a date\/time other than the scheduled date\/time, please post it as soon as possible on the Winter League WhatsApp so that the Organiser and team captains are kept up to date with when games are being played.<\/li>\r\n
  8. Results should be submitted via the Monkstone PC Website by both team captains using the link on the website within 2 days of the fixture taking place<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
